The American Paraplegia Society is the Physicians Section of the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, Inc.  It is an organization of physicians and doctoral-level researchers working in the field of spinal cord injury, in collaboration with researchers, physicians, and the entire spectrum of healthcare providers who serve persons with spinal cord injuries/disorders.

The American Spinal Injury Association is dedicated to establishing and promoting standards of excellence; to educating healthcare professionals, patients and their families, and the general public; to fostering research aimed at preventing injury, improving care, and finding a cure for SCI; and to facilitating communication among physicians and other health care professionals, researchers, and consumers.

The Canadian/American Spinal Research Organization is committed to the reduction of spinal cord injuries through awareness programs for the general public and prevention programs for targeted groups, with the goal of one day finding a cure for paralysis caused by SCI or other neurological disorders.
